Work to establish the Fife Cultural Trust, which will manage council-funded cultural services from 1st October this year, is progressing.
Two new directors were appointed at the trust’s first board meeting held recently and will join the four Councillors appointed last month by the Housing & Communities Committee. Dr Frank Quinault, Chair of The Byre Theatre, and Stuart Cross, Chair of ON at Fife, will sit alongside Councillor Brian Goodall, Councillor Donald Macgregor, Councillor John Beare and Councillor Charles Haffey.
A further seven independent directors have still to be appointed and it was agreed at the board meeting that applications would now be invited from those with a passion for and experience of all facets of cultural provision in Fife, whether that’s libraries, theatres, arts, heritage & museums.
It was also agreed Councillor Brian Goodall would chair the meetings of the board pending the appointment of an independent chair of the board once a full complement of directors is in place later this year.
